The American microbiologist Albert Bruce Sabin (left),and Dr Robert Gallo (right),one of the discoverers of the AIDS virus. Sabin (born 1906),working with attenuated poliovirus,was able to obtain a vaccine which had a longer-lasting immunity and the capability of being given orally.
