Etemenanki ziggurat,artwork. This ziggurat and temple in Babylon was dedicated to the city's patron god Marduk. It was part of the Esagila temple site that reached the peak of its extent and size in the 6th century BC under Nebuchadrezzar II. The Etemenanki was a terraced step pyramid with seven storeys,measuring 90 metres on each side and reaching a height of 91 metres. On top was a temple shrine.
