One pole of the nucleus is covered with the developing acrosome,a cap-like membranous organelle,within which are enzymes required for penetration of the egg during fertilization. Round spermatids transform by the process of spermiogenesis into elongated spermatids by condensation/reshaping of the nucleus (dark,centre),loss of most cytoplasm and development of a tail/flagellum.
