Indri in a tree. Indris (Indri indri) are the largest of the lemurs, with their bodies reaching up to 90 centimetres in length. They live in the rainforests of north-eastern Madagascar in small groups of between 3 and 5 individuals, and feed on fruits, leaves and flowers. Their loud call, which can be heard from over a kilometre away,is used to advertise the presence of the group to other lemurs. Photographed in the Perinet Special Reserve,Madagascar | |
