Norman Bel Geddes (1893-1958),US industrial designer. Initially a designer of theatre and film sets,Geddes opened his own industrial design studio in 1927. Objects designed ranged from radio cabinets to cars,airliners,and early computers. His books include 'Horizons' (1932) and 'Magic Motorways' (1940). Among his most influential installations was the General Motors Pavilion (Futurama) for the 1939 New York World's Fair.
