Chicago skyline from Adler Planetarium. This view looks north-west from the northern tip of the Northerly Island peninsula on the shores of Lake Michigan. Across the water are the skyscrapers of central Chicago,with the tallest being the Willis Tower (left,442 metres,formerly the Sears Tower). Near centre is the Trump International Hotel and Tower (423 metres),completed in 2009. At far right is Lake Point Tower (197 metres). The Adler planetarium and museum is one of the oldest in existence,having been founded in 1930.
