Zero-G Airbus aircraft. Artwork of the Zero-G Airbus 300 aeroplane used by the European Space Agency for free-fall training and science experiments. This aircraft is operated by Novespace,a subsidiary of the French space agency CNES. The aircraft is flown to high altitudes (around 7000 metres) above the Bay of Biscay, and is placed in a parabolic trajectory that produces 20 seconds of free-fall conditions. The parabolic trajectory and a free-falling human is shown on the aircraft's tail. Several flights are flown annually, with around 30 parabolas flown in a single day. This aircraft has been in use for these flights since 1996 | |
