Yuya mummy. Mummified remains of Yuya,a powerful Egyptian courtier during the 18th Dynasty (circa 1390 BC). The mummy's apparent non-Egyptian features, along with other linguistic and chronological data, has led some to hypothesise that Yuya is in fact Joshua, who led the Israelites to Egypt in the Old Testament. However, this theory has not been accepted in mainstream Egyptology. Photographed at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities,Cairo,Egypt | |
