Adult Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus). This vulture is native to the Mediterranean,Turkey, parts of Africa and parts of India. At less than 60 centimetres in length it is small, but is well known due to its habit of using stones as tools to break open ostrich eggs. Its main food supply however is waste and refuse, which it often finds around human habitation. Photographed in Israel in September | |
