MODEL RELEASED. Lokomat walking therapy. Nurses adjusting leg cuffs on the robotic leg braces (gait orthosis) of a patient using the Lokomat therapy system. The leg cuffs are designed to prevent pressure sores. These robotic leg braces are programmed to imitate and assist the patient as they walk on the treadmill during rehabilitation sessions to regain or improve mobility. Typical patient conditions include stroke,spinal cord or brain injury,multiple sclerosis,and Parkinson's disease. Produced by the Swiss company Hocoma,the Lokomat has been available since 2001.
