Pacific tree frog (Hyla regilla) sitting on an apple. The pacific tree frog is a small, nocturnal amphibian found along the pacific coast of Canada and the USA. It is identifiable by the thick black bands found next to its eyes. It can quickly alter its colour by contracting its pigment cells, although this is in response to temperature and humidity rather than in defence. The pacific frog is the most commonly heard frog on the pacific coast and a chorus of these frogs can be heard over several kilometres | |
