| False-colour,computer-constructed perspective view of the Golubkina crater on Venus. The image was made from data acquired by the Magellan radar- mapping spacecraft in August 1990. Radar brightness data from Magellan has been converted into height data by a complex computer algorithm. The crater itself is the dark area in upper left,with a bright central peak typical of large impact cratering. The terraced nature of the crater walls is caused by their partial collapse after the impact event.
