Eurekichtys vermipinna is an extinct fish in the family Paleoniscidae,class of Actinopterygii. This early,jawed fish had a bony skeleton and a prominent operculum,that is a hard bony flap covering and protecting the gills. This fossil is from the Bear Gulch limestone of Montana,deposits of the Mississippian epoch,some 350 million years old,and well known for its profusion of early bony fishes.
